Are Blond’s more fun?

By on October 6, 2012 in Beer & Booze

Whoops   I just discovered a stack of pictures of beers i have not yet added. We had these before the Ranong trip.

My first real introduction to Belgium beer was almost a decade ago at a Belgium Beer garden located in St. Kilda Road Melbourne Australia.  They had a range of Laffe beers on tap and I tried one of each and at the time decided that the Leffe Blond was my favourite.

Time to revisit this beer and compare it to others in the same style.

Next had the Petrus Blond

Next had the Maredsous Blond

and finally the Gauloise Blond

These are all Abbey style beers despite only two of them using the distinctive Abbey style bottle. We both rated the beers the same with Gauloise the clear winner followed by Leffe.  We really expected more from the Petrus which we rated third and Maredsous last.  They are all good beers none the less.
