I'm a coffee drinker. And back in the US, I like putting fresh milk in my coffee. Where do you get yours? I've lived here in the Philippines for almost three years now, so I've already gotten used to UHT milk, but I would like to have fresh milk once in a while. Can't find them at supermarkets. Darigold is one of the best tasting so far that I can find at regular supermarkets like SM. Horizon organic which is my favorite brand in the US can be found at specialty shop Healthy Options, but it's still UHT.

Hi Randall.

This is Frank from Canada. Today is April 15, 2011 the very first time reading your blog and I'm impressed.

I was in giggling from ear to ear reading about your culinary tryouts. I have a not so contemporary cooking stye. I don't measure ingredients and I experiment and try to cook to tropical palate.

Good work.

Hey Randall. Thanks for your blog. I like it a lot. I'm a Canadian and I want to come to the Philippines, marry there and perhaps live there or live there in winter months. I need a lot of information before I step out.

I'm from Australia and I visited the Philippines for the second time over christmas. In my first trip I was in awe of all things different, but this time I lived/stayed with my philippino friends for 4 weeks and was able to revel in our similarities. But I also found the whole tea thing interesting and like you found it easier to carry my own tea bags and coffee mate with me. I dont drink coffee at all, but twise, while visiting a high school and also a bible seminary I was given coffee and drank it cos I didnt want to be rude. I found that at most restaurants or hotels that I ordered tea, I had to ask for milk because it is not generally served with tea. All of my young friends from the schools thought that it was very interesting that I did not like coffee at all. It looks like I will be moving to the philippines next year, I think I will have to take my own teapot and teas with me lol, and maybe buy a cow so I can get my own fresh milk.
Thank you for your blog.

I drink probably more tea than most Americans. I have grown fond of Yerba Mate from South America (Uraguay).

Probably haven't had "real tea" in my life by British standards except for the time I visited London for a week. I am not much on Green Tea either, it is kind of tasteless. Of course I do drink one cup of coffe in the morning and then Yerba Mate the rest of the day.

Sounds great! I also like to experiment while cooking. Did not know that about Mexico administering the government in the Philippines during their rule.. Interesting!

That must have been quite an experience. I have had mostly cold showers over there. Usually it's so hot I don't mind at all!

The woman with the mic just cracks me up!! That is so typical Filipino.

I am not laughing at them, that's what I love about them. They have a great approach to life and seem to be able to take it in stride.
